Bhajan and Kirtan on Asthawaani offer pure devotional music that calms the mind and fills the heart with bhakti. From the classical bhajans of Surdas, Mira, Tulsidas, Kabir and Narsi Mehta to the soulful Hare Krishna kirtans of Vrindavan, from Hanuman Chalisa renditions to Shiv tandav stotra and Devi jagran — every sound is a step toward the divine. Our singers are trained in the Pushti, Gaudiya and Vallabh musical lineages of Braj, and the recordings retain the authentic tonal warmth of traditional harmonium, mridang, taal and manjira.
Why Bhajan & Kirtan?
Bhakti music carries a special vibration that purifies the atmosphere, releases stress and opens the heart. Even ten minutes of kirtan in the morning has been shown — both in scripture and in personal experience — to bring noticeable peace, lower the inner noise and improve interpersonal patience for the rest of the day. Naam-sankirtan is the yuga-dharma of Kali — the easiest, fastest and most universally available form of sadhana.
What You Will Hear
Krishna bhajans (Govind Damodar Stotra, Madhurashtakam, Yashomati Maiya, Achyutam Keshavam), Ram bhajans (Sundar Kand, Ram Dhun, Shri Ramchandra Kripalu), Hanuman Chalisa, Shiv bhajans (Shiv Tandav Stotra, Lingashtakam), Devi bhajans (Durga Saptashati, Mahishasura Mardini), and the deeply meditative Braj kirtans of Banke Bihari, Radhe Radhe and Hare Krishna mahamantra.
Sing With Us
Our live sessions warmly invite you to sing along. You do not need a trained voice — only sincere bhav. A simple harmonium drone in the background, eyes softly closed, the same line repeated fifteen times in slow building tempo — this is the gentle entry door to deep prema-bhakti.
Live Kirtan Schedule
Morning Krishna kirtan (early dawn), evening Hare Krishna mahamantra session, weekly Sunder Kand on Tuesday, Hanuman Chalisa group recitation, Shiv kirtan on Mondays and special all-night jagran on Janmashtami, Shivratri and Navaratri.
Bhajans for Specific Needs
For anxiety — Hare Krishna mahamantra slow tempo. For grief — Achyutam Keshavam. For courage — Hanuman Chalisa. For protection — Mahamrityunjaya bhajan. For prosperity — Lakshmi suktam. For relationships — Madhurashtakam. Curated playlists are available on our YouTube channel.
Studio-Quality Devotional Recordings
Beyond live sessions, Asthawaani publishes high-fidelity studio recordings of rare Braj bhajans — many of which were previously available only inside specific Vrindavan temples. Each recording credits the singer, raag, taal and source pad-sangrah to keep the parampara transparent.
